White nights marathon & Mt Elbrus Expedition

1 JuL - 12 Jul 2016

Overview

Myrmidon Expeditions started the 2016 Summer off with another challenging expedition. The team of this Russian expedition set themselves apart by being the first of a very select number (if any) that can say they ran a marathon and stood atop one of the world's Seven Summits in the same week.

b. Phase 2 (1-3 Jul). Fly into St Petersburg, Russia and meet the rest of the Myrmidon Team before running the White Nights Marathon (26.2 miles) through the iconic city of St Petersburg on 3 July. This race began at 9 o'clock after waking up from the long summer nights of Russia's northern city.

c. Phase 3 (4 - 12 Jul). After completing the White Nights Marathon, the team flew south to Mineralnye Vody and headed to the mountain towns in the Caucasus Mountain region. After refitting to our alpine climbing kit, the Myrmidon Team then headed up for a summit bid of Mt Elbrus (18,510'), one of the world's Seven Summits. We utilized the northern route, providing a less traditional experience.

d. Phase 4 (12 Jul - ###). [Omitted]
